Fluke 8588A Reference Multimeter Demo Video
Transcript
Hi, I’m Marty Kidd with Fluke Calibration. I’m going to be demonstrating the Fluke 8588A using the 5730A to show a couple of the features with the new long-scale DMM. The Fluke 8588A is the world’s most stable long-scale DMM. At the 10 volt input of auto impedance, we’re looking at 1 tera ohm impedance.
Right now I’ve got 10 volts going in; again, we’re in my home lab so not everything is in calibration here. You can see we’ve got our readings; we can look at statistics; we go to Analyze, Statistics, and it’ll show you the number of readings, the span of the readings, the min and the max, the average, and the standard deviation, which can be in ppm or just in units. Very very very stable. You can also pull data saved to internal storage. Then you can take your thumb drive …and now I’ve copied that record to the USB stick. Now I can go analyze it on my computer in Excel or whatever. It’s a .csv file.
And I can go to Trig Setup and I’ve got this thing set up for 50,000 readings; I want Digitize; a 1 kHz signal at 10 volts; go back, I hit Trig. It took the 50,000 readings already. Now I hit Analyze and it’s going to bring up my screen. Now I can manage records. There’s my 50,000 readings.
You can also do a front/rear ratio, you can do capacitance, if you wanted for example to do the 5522A capacitance… You can do RF power with a Rohde & Swartz sensor that can connect here. Frequency and also the A40B shunts can be measured here.
